Herbert Smith has announced further management changes from 1 May.
Dispute resolution partner Martin Bakes will assume the new role of general counsel, taking overall control for risk and compliance matters.
In addition, chief finance officer John Mullins will become chief operating officer; he will retain overall responsibility for the firm’s financial affairs.

If a solicitor acts for himself on a claim, my understanding is that he is generally only entitled to litigant in person costs.
