RBS more accessible

The Royal Bank of Scotland has become the first service provider to be ordered to make its building accessible to wheelchair users. In Allen v Royal Bank of Scotland the court held that the bank had breached the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and issued an injunction ordering the bank to install a platform lift. David Allen, who has muscular dystrophy, brought the case after he was unable to access his local branch. The bank had offered telephone and internet services, and arranged disabled access to three other branches.
