Law Society's 2028 president appointed

Brabners commercial disputes partner Jeff Lewis has been elected deputy vice president of the Law Society.

Manchester-based Lewis, who joined Brabners in 2005, advises on commercial disputes, landlord and tenant, professional negligence, financial services disputes, sports law and judicial review. He is an accredited mediator, sits as a deputy district judge on the Northern Circuit and holds higher rights of audience in civil cases.

He is due to take office in October, be vice president in 2027 and become president in 2028.

Law Society president Mark Evans said: ‘He emerged from a strong pool of candidates, and his experience and commitment to the profession will be invaluable.’

Lewis said: ‘I look forward to being a strong voice for solicitors, encouraging young people to enter the profession and build their careers.’
