Legal expenses specialist appoints head of Irish operations

Legal expenses insurance provider Arc Legal has welcomed Peter Harvey on board to head up its new Ireland branch.

Peter joins after almost three years as a regional director with Arthur J Gallagher, and has also previously worked at AXA Insurance Ireland and the Swinton Group. He will now take on the role of head of business overseeing all of Arc Legal’s Irish operations.

Peter commented: ‘Arc Legal’s ambitions in Ireland are significant. They have already established a large client base and the range of ancillary products they are now bringing to the local market is considerable—they are clearly a growing force. I look forward to getting started and shaping the company’s growth strategy.’

Richard Finan, Arc Legal’s director of distribution, added: ‘We were delighted that Peter agreed to come and join us. He is a quality individual that we have worked with as a client for a number of years. He is well known and respected and has a significant track record in the insurance market and was the ideal appointment to manage our new Dublin branch.

‘We are growing our market share in Ireland with some excellent new business wins and product developments recently. It was the right time for us to invest in a permanent presence to support our clients and to build on our recent success. The Irish market has been dominated by one provider for too long—we now offer a credible and sustainable alternative.’
