Are you ready for Justice Week?

Lawyers across England and Wales are gearing up for the first ever Justice Week, 29 October to 2 November.

The Week, which is the initiative of the three main professional bodies, aims to boost the profile of justice and show why it is central to our society, economy and democracy. Events include panel discussions on the ethical obligations of lawyers during major incidents, immigration policy and the rule of law, the human cost of justice cuts and whether the justice system needs a rebrand.

However, lawyers are welcome to stage their own event as part of Justice Week (or during Pro Bono Week, 22-26 October). It could be a fundraising event, a debate on a controversial topic, an article in the local press centring on Justice Week, a speaker event or an in-house discussion on access to justice. Small grants of up to £250 are available for this on a first come, first served basis. To apply, please email Sharon Bruty at sharon.bruty@cilex.org.uk. Help is also available from Justice Week teams at the Law Society, Bar Council and CILEx.
