Birketts—Belinda Moore

Business development & marketing director joins east England firm

Birketts has welcomed Belinda Moore to its client services team as business development and marketing director.

Belinda was most recently on the executive team of retail energy company E.ON. She has spent more than a decade in director roles across industries, as well as holding non-executive positions on the boards of brands and sector-wide initiatives, advising on marketing strategy, the formation of charitable trusts and grant distribution.

Jonathan Agar, chief executive officer at Birketts, said: ‘Belinda’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Birketts and could not be timelier. We are a business gathering unparalleled momentum through one of the most challenging trading conditions in living memory, and this progress will only benefit from the influence and experience of a Director who has a track record delivering revenue growth.

‘Consistently implementing the right strategy at the right time has led Belinda through a successful career and through multiple business sectors to her position at Birketts. I have no doubt she will continue to excel and help us to even greater heights.’

Commenting on her appointment, Belinda said: ‘I’m delighted to join Birketts and the exceptional calibre of Directors already leading the firm with Jonathan and Senior Partner James Austin. Having spent my career promoting the values of transparency and trust in brands it is a privilege to work within a business that holds these at the centre of their mission for their clients. I am excited to help Birketts onto even greater successes.’

Timing is everything—and the Court of Appeal has delivered clarity on when proceedings are ‘brought’. In his latest 'Civil way' column for NLJ, Stephen Gold explains that a claim is issued for limitation purposes when the claim form is delivered to the court, even if fees are underpaid
The traditional ‘single, intensive day’ of financial dispute resolution (FDR) may be due for a rethink. Writing in NLJ this week, Rachel Frost-Smith and Lauren Guiler of Birketts propose a ‘split FDR’ model, separating judicial evaluation from negotiation
