Wealth manager & private bank appoints legal counsel

Wealth management and investment firm Brown Shipley has welcomed Rachel Macfarlane on board as its legal counsel.

Rachel previously spent five years at Santander UK, where she acted as a legal manager across its retail and business banking operations. Her areas of experience in the field include managing retail litigation, fraud prevention, and financial crime transformation projects. She was also a director of charitable trust the Santander Foundation.

Brown Shipley’s chief risk officer Mike Hudson said: ‘I am delighted to welcome Rachel to the business. Drawing upon her legal expertise and proven track record, I am sure she will make a valuable contribution as our in-house legal counsel.’

Rachel added: ‘I am very pleased to be joining Brown Shipley. The business has an excellent track record of client service and professionalism, but I’ve also been impressed by its growth over the past couple of years. I now look forward to putting my skills to work and supporting colleagues across the business.’
