Court of Protection specialist joins private bank

Wealth manager and private bank Brown Shipley has announced the appointment of Richard McGregor as its newly-created national head of Court of Protection and personal injury.

Richard has moved to Brown Shipley from private bank Arbuthnot Latham, where he headed the Court of Protection and personal injury practice. He has also previously worked with Barclays Wealth and Investment as vice president of the Court of Protection team. He will now lead Brown Shipley’s specialist Court of Protection and personal injury practice across its teams in Manchester and London.

Richard said: ‘Brown Shipley has an excellent track record providing wealth planning and investment management services to recipients of damages awards, spanning over ten years, and I look forward to building upon this. Protected parties and their legal representatives require a highly specialist service from a dedicated team, and I am excited to be joining a business with a clear growth trajectory and an ambition to innovate and evolve in order to best serve its clients.’

Guy Healey, head of private banking, also said: ‘I am delighted that Richard has joined Brown Shipley. He has deep experience and expertise in the Court of Protection and personal injury field and will bring great value to our existing team. I am confident that he will build significantly upon our successful track record of serving our clients in this highly specialist area, through our integrated wealth management proposition.’
