Burges Salmon

Rachael Ruane, Tom Dunn, Sian Edmunds & Luke Bowery to become partners

Burges Salmon has made up four new partners from within the firm. The four promotions, effective from 1 May 2014, reflect the firm’s continued growth.

Rachael Ruane becomes a partner in the firm's well-respected banking and finance practice. She joined Burges Salmon in October 2006 and advises on acquisition finance, corporate banking, securitisations and property finance with a particular focus on asset and project based financing, chiefly in the transport and energy sectors.

Tom Dunn becomes a partner specialising in funds and financial services. He joined the firm in March 2010 and advises a broad range of clients including financial institutions, investment funds, corporates and pension funds in relation to financial services regulation, investment funds and derivatives.

Sian Edmunds will become a partner in the dispute resolution team specialising in advising the food, agriculture and agri-business sector. As a key member of the firm’s food, farming & land sector group she provides expert advice on contentious matters to all areas of the food supply chain.

Luke Bowery becomes a partner in the firm’s employment team. Luke joined Burges Salmon as a trainee solicitor in September 2002 and qualified into the employment team in September 2004. He advises employers and employees in the public and private sectors on a full range of employment related matters including contractual terms, restructuring and collective redundancies, TUPE, employment tribunals, industrial relations and executive severance.

Burges Salmon’s senior partner, Alan Barr, says: “We are very pleased to welcome Rachael, Tom, Sian and Luke to the partnership.  Each of them is an exceptionally talented lawyer and will have a vital role to play in the ongoing growth of both the firm and their respective teams.”
