His appointment will support the firm to build on its established strengths in areas including renewables, energy storage and nuclear by developing a broader, integrated offering across the energy transition, infrastructure and utilities. David also brings significant experience working across international energy markets. An experienced sector leader and business builder, David brings a strong track record of developing and expanding energy practices and international client relationships.

David McEwing, Partner says “I am delighted to have joined Burges Salmon at such an exciting time for the firm and its Energy & Utilities sector group. “Burges Salmon already has an outstanding reputation and significant strength across Energy & Utilities. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the firm to build on those foundations, develop an even broader energy offering and support clients in the UK and internationally.”

Nick Graves, Head of Corporate adds “David McEwing is an outstanding addition to our Corporate and M&A team and our wider Energy & Utilities practice. He brings deep sector knowledge, significant international M&A experience and an impressive track record of developing client relationships and helping to grow successful energy practices.”

James Phillips, Head of Energy & Utilities says “The energy market is evolving rapidly, creating opportunities and challenges across the sector. David McEwing’s appointment strengthens our ability to help clients navigate that landscape and is an important investment to help us capitalise on opportunities for growth.”

David’s appointment forms part of the ongoing investment in our Energy & Utilities offering and its focus on sustained growth in the sector.
