Charles Russell Speechlys—Partner promotions

Firm promotes four to partner
Charles Russell Speechlys has promoted four lawyers to partner, effective 1 May 2020. In addition there were eight promotions to legal director, while a further 17 were promoted to senior associate.

Simon Ridpath, managing partner at Charles Russell Speechlys, said: ‘Our four new partners excel in their fields and we are delighted to reward their hard work and first-class client service. These promotions reflect our renewed focus on strengthening core areas of our business, even as we weather these challenging times. My warmest congratulations to each of our new partners.’

These promotions follow the recent promotion to partner of Jason Freedman in corporate restructuring and insolvency, and the hire of Charlotte Duly as legal director and head of brand protection in the firm’s intellectual property team.

The newly-promoted partners are:

Oliver Auld (pictured): private wealth disputes. Oliver joined the firm as a trainee, qualifying in 2009. He acts for clients involved in complex and multi-jurisdictional disputes concerning inherited wealth and assets held in English and offshore family trusts.

Helen Coward: corporate tax. Helen joined the firm in 2016 and has a broad practice with particular experience of the taxation of owner-managed businesses and all aspects of real estate taxation. She is also a chartered tax adviser.

Alexander Gold: real estate. Alexander joined the firm in 2015. He has a broad range of experience in commercial property transactions, advising on residential-led, commercial and mixed-use development projects.

Eddie Richards: real estate. Eddie joined the firm as a trainee in 2008. He advises on a range of landlord and tenant issues and other associated matters in the office, logistics, retail and leisure sectors.
