Winners of CILEx's first National Awards revealed

The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) announced the winners of its inaugural National Awards at a ceremony held in Shakespeare’s Globe last week.

Among the night’s winners was Keith Barrett (pictured, centre), a serious injury expert and partner at Fieldfisher, who was honoured with the lifetime achievement award. The director of specialist Court of Protection firm Hyphen Law Christine Bunting took home the Advancing the Legal Profession award, and BakerLaw managing partner Amanda Glover was recognised for Visionary Leadership. Some of the winning firms of the night included DAC Beachcroft LLP in the Promoting Access to the Profession category, and Trowers & Hamlins for Diversity and Inclusion. The full list of winners can be found here.

CILEx’s chief executive Linda Ford (pictured, left) said: ‘Our members make a major contribution to their clients, the profession and the rule of law and it is important to recognise their achievements.

‘A notable change in the profession over recent years is that Chartered Legal Executives are increasingly coming out of the back office and into leadership positions within their firms and the wider profession. They are standing shoulder to shoulder with solicitor and barrister colleagues, showing the value of the CILEx route to qualification.’
