Construction team appoints head of UK real estate development construction

The Clifford Chance construction team has appointed Iain Suttie as the new head of UK real estate development construction, succeeding Marianne Toghill who was in the role for eight years.

Joining from Herbert Smith Freehills, where he was Of Counsel, Iain has extensive experience delivering construction and engineering projects across a range of areas including urban regeneration, major infrastructure, and commercial construction projects. 

His practice spans the office, transport, energy, water, retail and housing sectors, both in the UK and internationally where he advises on procurement strategy, as well as leading on key negotiations.  In his new role at Clifford Chance, Iain will be working closely with UK and global client teams and colleagues across planning, real estate and real estate finance.
