Copyright protection for certain artistic works could be extended to 70 years plus the life of the creator, bringing UK law into line with that of other EU member states.

The Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill will repeal s 52 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, which limits the term of protection for artistic works produced through an industrial process to 25 years.
