CQS reaches 1,500

Law Society makes its 1,500th quality standard award

The Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) has made its 1,500th quality standard award, to Bright (South West) LLP, in Plymouth. In order to qualify for CQS status, law firms must undergo strict assessment, compulsory training, self-reporting, random audits and annual reviews.

The award is backed by the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Building Societies Association, Legal Ombudsman and the Association of British Insurers.

Law Society chief executive Desmond Hudson says: “All CQS firms now automatically qualify to act for some banks and their mortgage customers, including HSBC and Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks.”
