Cripps partner awarded France’s highest order of merit

Olivier Morel, a partner at Cripps (now incorporating Pemberton Greenish), has been included in France’s new year’s honours list for 2019, receiving the country’s highest order of merit, ‘Knight of the French National Order of the Légion d’Honneur’.

A French and English dual-qualified corporate lawyer, Olivier has been awarded this honour in recognition of his three decades of experience working with French businesses in the UK and fostering Franco-British co-operation.

In addition to heading the international corporate group at Cripps, where he has been a partner for almost 14 years, Olivier is also the president of the UK chapter of the Foreign Trade Advisors UK, a French government international trade think-tank, and the vice president of the French Chamber of Great Britain.

Olivier commented: ‘It is a huge honour that the French government has seen fit to recognise my work with the French and British business communities. I am a passionate advocate of the bond of commerce and friendship between our two nations, so I also see this award as recognition of the importance of those historical links.’

Gavin Tyler, Cripps’ managing partner, added: ‘We are delighted that Olivier’s work has been recognised in this way. The firm is very active on the international stage, and his work with French businesses reinforces our commitment to international trade.’
