Private equity specialist joins as partner in London

Dorsey & Whitney has appointed M&A and private equity specialist Mark Churchman as a partner in its London office. The firm said the hire strengthens its ability to support mid-market sponsors on UK domestic and cross-border transactions.

Churchman joins from Shoosmiths, where he was a partner in the M&A and private equity team. He brings more than 15 years’ experience advising UK, US and European sponsors on investment and M&A opportunities, with a focus on mid-market private equity buyouts, bolt-on acquisitions and portfolio company matters.

His practice spans sectors including enterprise software, technology, media and telecoms, and energy and infrastructure. Churchman is recognised by Legal 500 as a recommended lawyer for M&A deals up to £100m and technology, media and telecoms, and has also been featured in Financier World’s distinguished adviser list for private equity.
