For over 20 years we’ve provided UKAS-accredited Drug, Alcohol and DNA testing services for family law professionals and local authorities across the country, delivering evidence to support critical decisions - often involving care proceedings or safeguarding matters.
But our commitment to excellence doesn’t end in the laboratory. Behind every instruction lies a story – often involving families in crisis or children at risk. It’s this deeper understanding of the human impact behind our work that drives our ongoing commitment to give back to the communities we serve.
Measurable impact, meaningful change
Since the introduction of the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012, public sector suppliers have been increasingly called upon to demonstrate how their work delivers tangible benefits to local communities.
For AlphaBiolabs, this commitment to social value is embedded not just in policy, but in practice.
In recent years, we’ve donated over £65k to charitable causes via our Giving Back campaign – and throughout 2025, we’ve continued to support causes close to the hearts of our customers.
Every two months, we randomly select a legal customer to nominate a charity of their choice to receive a £500 donation from AlphaBiolabs – a simple but powerful way to ensure our work has a direct, positive impact beyond the courtroom.
This year’s nominated charities have included a wide range of causes, from organisations that support people affected by cancer, to children’s hospice care, survivors of domestic abuse, community development, and men’s mental health. For example:
- In July, Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid was nominated to receive a Giving Back donation. “Contributions like this enable us to keep our refuges open and extend vital community outreach to people experiencing domestic abuse across North Nottinghamshire,”
- – Mandy Green, Head of Service.
- In September, the donation went to RAY Ceredigion, in west Wales. “As a small grassroots charity, every contribution makes a real difference, and helps us to continue providing vital play, learning and community opportunities for people across Ceredigion,”
- – Gill Byrne, Executive Officer.
- And in November, Sean’s Place, a men’s mental health charity based in Liverpool, was the recipient. “This support helps us continue offering free, tailored mental health programmes for men across Sefton and Liverpool,”
- – Debbie Rogers, Founder and CEO.
A year-round commitment to giving
But our Giving Back ethos extends far beyond this particular campaign. Throughout 2025, our monthly employee charity draw has continued to empower colleagues to support causes close to their hearts, with donations made to local organisations including Young Persons Advisory Service, KIND, and Merseyside Domestic Violence Service.
Plus, this Christmas, we’ll once again be giving back to a number of charities that support vulnerable children and families – from Comfort Cases, which supplies essentials to children entering care, to Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas toy drive, as well as numerous Trussell food banks across the UK.
Social value and family law
Our work within family law reminds us daily of the human stories behind every test.
That’s why social value isn’t just something we talk about – it’s something we live and breathe. When you instruct AlphaBiolabs, you’re choosing more than a testing provider. You’re choosing a partner that shares your commitment to supporting vulnerable people and local communities.
