The Law Society has called for the assigned risks pool (ARP) to be scrapped
Law firms should instead be given a three-month grace period in which to find indemnity insurance, merge or close down, it will argue in its response to a Solicitors Regulation Authority consultation paper, Future Client Financial Protection Arrangements. The Society suggests minimum periods for firms to consider quotations and maximum processing times for insurers.
