Eversheds Sutherland—DHP Legal

Global firm expands into Czech & Slovak Republics

International firm Eversheds Sutherland has announced its acquisition of Dvořák Hager & Partners (DHP Legal), strengthening its foothold in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic.

The combination with DHP Legal—already a long-standing relationship firm of Eversheds Sutherland—will bring 49 lawyers, including eight partners, to the fold, and increase the number of Eversheds Sutherland offices to 68 in 34 countries.

Lee Ranson, CEO of Eversheds Sutherland (International) commented: ‘The continued expansion of our global platform is a key part of our strategy, and one which has gathered real momentum in Europe in the past year. The Czech and Slovak Republics are a natural fit for us as is DHP Legal, one of the region’s most highly regarded law firms. I am delighted to welcome our new colleagues to Eversheds Sutherland.’

Eversheds Sutherland’s Europe chair, Ian Gray, added: ‘We have been working closely with relationship firm DHP Legal for some time, and have grown closer over the last two years due to increasing client demand for services in Czech and Slovak, as the economies have strengthened. It is very attractive to clients to offer them additional legal resource in the CEE to complement our German and Russian practices. We are delighted to formalise our relationship with DHP Legal and look forward to an even closer relationship with them.’

Stanislav Dvořák, managing partner of DHP Legal, also said: ‘Developing a deeper connection with Eversheds Sutherland is a natural evolution of our long-standing relationship. Our 49-strong legal team is looking forward to developing closer ties with the wider Eversheds Sutherland client roster as they look to grow their businesses in the CEE. Our ability to provide a seamless legal service to clients and Eversheds Sutherland colleagues will be a key factor in the continued success of our relationship.’
