Promotions and management changes at Fox Williams LLP

Fox Williams has announced three partner promotions, three legal director promotions, and some important management changes. These will coincide with Gavin Foggo (pictured) assuming the role of senior partner on 1 May 2023.

Promotions

Daisy Jones in the employment department, and Mardi MacGregor and Sebastian Sayer in the financial services group, are promoted to partner.

Senior associates, Sian Barr (commerce and technology), Rebecca Facey (real estate) and Beth Silkin (corporate) are promoted to legal director.

Outgoing senior partner, Paul Osborne, says: 'It gives me great pleasure that the partnership has agreed to promote this group of talented lawyers from within the firm. These promotions are richly deserved and recognise the quality and expertise of these individuals.

'We have made every effort to invest in, and nurture, our lawyers and develop a pipeline of legal talent so that client needs are met at every level and our lawyers can develop their careers with a clear path to partnership.'

Management changes

Fox Williams also announces the following changes to take effect on 1 May:

  • Ben Giaretta, has been appointed head of dispute resolution, succeeding Gavin Foggo in this role.
  • Sona Ganatra and Jonathan Segal have been appointed as co-heads of the financial services group, with Jonathan also continuing his leadership roles in fintech and technology and Sona leading our investigations offering.
  • Mary Elliott assumes a new role as management partner which will support the management of legal practice delivery and day-to-day operations. Mary will divide her time between this management role while leading with the firm’s publishing and digital media sector group and working with clients on corporate transactions.
  • HR partner, Blair Wright, joins the partnership board.

Gavin Foggo says: 'As I step into the senior partner role and chair of the partnership board, we are improving the management and governance of the firm. These developments align with the new strategic plan I will be driving forward to build on the momentum developed during Paul’s leadership.

'As our new head of dispute resolution, Ben Giaretta will continue to drive the department’s success, especially in our key areas of civil fraud, international arbitration, and securities litigation.

'Sona and Jonathan have strong reputations in their respective areas of financial services and their appointments as co-heads of this group underline the importance of our offering to the market in this key sector.

'As management partner, Mary will oversee a range of strategic and operational matters. Blair’s appointment to the partnership board is a notable development for the firm; it will provide us with a new perspective in multiple areas.

'This is an exciting time to be at Fox Williams, and I look forward to leading the firm.'
