Firm welcomes head of business services

Law firm Hewitsons has appointed corporate specialist Emma Shipp as partner and head of its business services unit.

Emma previously spent more than 28 years at Shakespeare Martineau, where she headed both the corporate team and the London office. She is highly experienced in M&A deals and corporate finance, and will now work with Hewitsons’ business clients across its four offices in Cambridge, London, Northampton and Milton Keynes.

Emma commented: ‘Hewitsons has an excellent reputation among business clients of all types and sizes, so I am delighted to be joining as head of a dynamic business services unit. I look forward to working with the firm’s growing team of highly regarded business orientated lawyers and helping them to continue delivering outstanding services for their expanding client base.’

Managing partner Colin Jones (pictured, right) added: ‘This is an exciting time for Hewitsons. We have been investing heavily in many areas of our business—not least, our people. Emma brings with her a wealth of experience, which will help us to take forward our already strong position as a provider of quality legal advice and services for business clients.

‘On behalf of Hewitsons, I would like to welcome her to our firm and congratulate her on her new position.’
