Marine casualty expert comes on board

Global firm HFW has brought Victor Fenwick on board as a legal director in its admiralty and crisis management team.

Victor joins HFW from his former position as partner and deputy head of the admiralty business group at Ince & Co. His arrival has expanded the admiralty and crisis management practice to more than 35 specialist lawyers, including 27 partners and a number of master mariners. Victor brings with him more than 25 years of experience in marine casualty claims, including collisions, fires, sinkings and cargo claims. He regularly advises shipowners, brokers and P&I insurers, and also offers expertise in unsafe port claims, negligent repair claims and charterparty disputes.

Victor commented: ‘I am delighted to be joining HFW's market-leading admiralty and crisis management practice. They are very highly regarded in my specialist area, and I'm confident that I will be able to use my experience and skill set to complement their existing expertise.’

Andrew Chamberlain, head of HFW’s global admiralty and crisis management team, said: ‘I am thrilled to welcome Victor to HFW. He is a hugely experienced and highly respected figure in the industry, with expertise in several key markets for our practice, including Scandinavia and Japan. Victor is a valuable addition that further strengthens our global team and underlines our continued and longstanding commitment to the maritime industry.’
