Competition expert takes the reins as Brussels managing partner

The Brussels office of Hogan Lovells has appointed Salomé Cisnal De Ugarte as its new office managing partner.

Salomé, who joined Hogan Lovells last year, is a specialist in EU competition law; she handles a wide range of relevant transactions, and advises on investigations before regulatory authorities around the globe. She offers particular expertise in the consumer goods, TMT and life sciences sectors, and is also vice-chair of the American Chamber of Commerce EU’s competition committee. Salomé takes over the role of office managing partner in Brussels from Matthew Levitt, who held the post for the last three years.

Salomé said: ‘I am honored to be appointed as managing partner for Hogan Lovells' Brussels office. Our regulatory offer is key for global businesses doing business in Europe.  Our team has an in-depth understanding of European law and regularly deals with challenging and business-critical legal issues which are of vital importance to our clients. We advise on some of the most complex and largest transactions and investigations globally, and I look forward to continuing to work with colleagues to build on our market leading position in Brussels and beyond.’
