Horwich Farrelly—Pure Innovations

Charity partnership helps to overcome employment barriers

Specialist insurance firm Horwich Farrelly has announced its partnership with Manchester charity Pure Innovations.

Established in 2005, the charity seeks to support people with disabilities or heath issues in finding work and living independent lives. The partnership with Horwich Farrelly has recently borne fruit when two of its referrals, Bob O’Brien and Kyle Barber, were offered permanent positions with the firm; two further internships will now be provided by Horwich Farrelly this month.

Partner and head of fraud Mark Hudson said: ‘The partnership with Pure Innovations has been truly uplifting and I’m proud of the work we have done in achieving this great result. More importantly I am so, so proud of Bob and Kyle and everyone who has helped them. I really look forward to seeing us grow the project and getting more of these truly incredible young people to join our family, to work with us and to live the independent lives that we all too often take for granted.’

Danielle Sidderley, senior employment officer at Pure Innovations, added: ‘Our values and belief is that anybody can work if they are given the right support. That everyone has something of value. It’s all about getting to know the individual and finding out what their skills and aspirations are and how best to support them.

‘Horwich Farrelly have quickly become a valuable partner to our supported internship projects. The opportunities that they have given to some of our young people have not only lead to paid employment, but has also increased their confidence, encouraged them to travel independently, improved their social skills and allowed them to make a smooth transition into adulthood.

‘The ripple effect and the impact that this partnership has on our young people is immeasurable. It’s not just a job, it’s about changing someone’s life.’
