Jenner & Block—Lizzie Shimmin

Commercial litigator joins the partnership in London

Transatlantic firm Jenner & Block has strengthened its team in London with the promotion of solicitor advocate Lizzie Shimmin to partner, as part of a promotional round which also saw 11 other lawyers across the firm join the partnership.

Dispute resolution specialist Lizzie, who joined the firm in June 2017, has wide experience advising corporations and financial institutions on a broad range of commercial litigation and arbitration matters, as well as regulatory investigations. In addition to representing her clients in High Court and Competition Appeals Tribunal proceedings, she has also participated in a number of international arbitration cases. With her promotion, Lizzie is the third London-based lawyer to join the firm’s partnership since the office opened in 2015, alongside Kelly Hagedorn and James Woolrich.

Charlie Lightfoot, managing partner of the London office and co-chair of the firm’s international arbitration practice, said: ‘Lizzie’s promotion to partner is very well deserved. She is a terrific lawyer who clients and colleagues consistently turn to for counsel on important matters, and her promotion is another important step in strengthening our offering in London.’

Jenner & Block’s managing partner Terrence J. Truax also said: ‘We are pleased to elevate Lizzie and 11 additional, talented lawyers to the partnership. Each of our new partners has worked on complex matters for our clients and demonstrated a commitment to the firm’s core values of excellence, collaboration, and pro bono and community service.’
