Partner and solicitor brought on board a reflection of continued growth
The JMW Restructuring and Insolvency team has been bolstered by two new hires, with Simon Gerrard joining as partner, and Tom McCue as solicitor.

Simon (pictured left) previously worked at heavyweight international law firms in both the UK and Australia; his clients include insolvency practitioners (on both corporate and personal matters), accountants, asset-based lenders, directors and shareholders. Ranked in the prestigious legal directory Legal 500, where he is described as being an “excellent solicitor” and having “a strong reputation for this sort of work, especially in Manchester”, Simon specialises in all aspects of insolvency and commercial litigation.

Tom (pictured right) has worked at both large corporates and boutique practices and has experience in a wide range of corporate and personal insolvency matters.

Headed by the respected Gavin Jones, the JMW Restructuring and Insolvency team provides sound, technical and practical advice to insolvency practitioners, lenders and other relevant organisations on their powers, duties and positions in respect of both formal and informal insolvency scenarios. He said: “I am pleased to welcome Simon and Tom to JMW. We anticipate continued growth of our Restructuring and Insolvency offering and their recruitment reflects that growth. I am sure they will do very well here.”

“I am delighted to be part of such a success story,” said Simon. “This is a complex and constantly evolving area of the law and I believe the experience and expertise I bring complements the already strong skill set within the team.”

Tom added: “I am very excited to be joining the team at JMW as they have a great reputation for their work. I believe I can make a significant contribution to their ongoing success.”
