SFO general counsel to join criminal litigation team

Alun Milford, currently general counsel at the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), will be joining Kingsley Napley LLP as a partner in the New Year.

Alun has spent the last 26 years as a prosecutor for the government, and has held the post of general counsel at the SFO since 2012; his former roles have included heading both the organised crime division and the proceeds of crime unit at the Crown Prosecution Service, as well as leading the asset forfeiture division in the Revenue and Customs Prosecution Office. As a partner at Kingsley Napley, Alun will join the criminal litigation team in handling white collar crime, multi-jurisdictional investigations, sanctions and enforcement.

The head of department at Kingsley Napley, Louise Hodges, said: ‘I am delighted that Alun is joining the criminal team at Kingsley Napley. After a successful career encompassing some of the most senior roles prosecuting crime and fraud in England and Wales, Alun brings with him a unique perspective and experience which will complement the talented partners and lawyers in the team.’
