R (Yilmaz) v Central Criminal Court [2007] EWHC 2620 (Admin)

A bill of indictment is “preferred” for the purposes of the Prosecution of Offences (Custody Time Limits) Regulations 1987, reg 5 where it is presented to the court with the intention that it would be scrutinised by “the proper officer of the court” to see whether or not the requirements of s 2(2) of the Administration of Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1933 have been complied with.
