Legal sector turnover grows

UK legal sector turnover increased by 20.8% in March to its highest figure on record of £4.16bn, according to the latest Office for National Statistics figures released this week

It outperformed the wider business sector—the UK services sector as a whole, which includes legal, rose 16.5% in March.

Separately, the Managing Partners' Forum quarterly trends tracker has shown 84% expect business activity levels to expand, a level last seen in spring 2022 before the Ukraine war and political uncertainty affected confidence. Nearly half the respondents were law firm leaders.

Julie Norris, partner at Kingsley Napley, said: ‘Revenues reached an all-time new high this March which is remarkable.’
