The Queen’s Bench Division dismissed the claimant’s libel proceedings against the defendant. Only two of seven articles complained of were actionable and they were defeated by the public interest defence, as the defendant had been entitled to place some reliance on the publisher to undertake appropriate checks and provide appropriate balance.
