HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) and the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) have announced the formation of an independent senior data governance panel.

Lexis®Library update: The panel's purpose is to provide expert advice on how courts and tribunals can best use justice data. Its goal is to operate with a focus on four main principles: open justice, judicial independence, the rule of law, and upholding public confidence in the justice system.

The panel will consist of five senior HMCTS and MoJ officials, five senior judges and at least five independent experts in the areas of open data, social research and emerging technologies.
