The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has reported that new Incentivised Substance Free Living Units are now running in 45 prisons across England and Wales with the aim of getting addicts off illicit drugs and reducing reliance on synthetic opiates.
Lexis®Library update: The MoJ has also provided that up to 18 drug recovery wings will be created which would allow prisoners to undertake six months of intensive abstinence-based treatment to reduce reliance on dangerous substances. Prisoners who make use of the incentivised units will receive extra time out of their cells for education and work opportunities.
