When I entered the legal profession, all litigators looked forward to the Long Vacation. The courts would shut down and service of proceedings ceased. The world stood still just as it has again this year.

The August wine drinking season is upon us and I would like to suggest some good bottles to enjoy in the anticipated heat.

Chilled red

Red wine is conventionally seen as appropriate on colder days. However, there are a few reds which can be chilled and are perfect on a warm evening. Beaujolais has been out of favour for too long. It is light in alcohol coming in at 12.5 or 13%. Lightly chilled, it stands both as a drink by itself but also as a fine accompaniment to food. Chicken, tuna and salmon work really well.
