Matthew Coats The Legal Services Commission

The Legal Services Commission (LSC) has recruited chief executive, Matthew Coats, who arrives from the UK Border Agency (UKBA).

Matthew is currently interim head of border force. Prior to that he led the asylum and immigration system and has been at the UKBA since 2006. He previously worked at the Department of Health and in the NHS. He will lead the LSC as it progresses with its change programme, including implementation of legal aid reforms and the move to becoming an executive agency of the MoJ.
