Offshore firm Ogier has expanded its team across the Channel Islands with the arrival of two senior Advocates in Jersey and Guernsey.
In Jersey, contentious trusts expert Damian Evans (pictured) has joined the firm as counsel, after more than four years with Walkers where he was partner and head of trusts disputes. Bringing with him seven years of experience as a Jersey Advocate, Damian provides expertise in commercial litigation including insolvency, fraud, regulatory and contractual disputes.
Partner Nick Williams commented: ‘Damian's arrival is a very welcome addition to our leading trusts disputes team.’
In Guernsey, Bryan de Verneuil-Smith has joined the team as a managing associate. He has moved to Ogier from his former position of senior associate in the dispute resolution team at Babbé LLP. Bryan offers broad experience across the commercial litigation field, including in financial services disputes, banking litigation and contentious insolvency.
Partner Mathew Newman said: ‘Bryan comes to us with a strong reputation, and members of our team have worked closely with him on the Carlyle trial and appeal—we look forward to his arrival.’
