Grenville Holden Hampshire v Board of the Pension Protection Fund [2016] EWCA Civ 786, [2016] All ER (D) 163 (Jul)

The Court of Appeal decided to make a reference to the Court of Justice of the European Union for a preliminary ruling regarding the interpretation of previous authority regarding a cap on compensation paid under the pension protection fund and to establish whether Art 8 of Council Directive (EEC) 80/987 was directly effective.
