Pro Bono Connect marks 10 years of supporting access to justice

Pro Bono Connect will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a reception and awards ceremony at the Supreme Court on 9 July, marking a decade of facilitating pro bono legal support for those unable to afford legal advice or representation

Established to bring together barristers and solicitors working on a pro bono basis, Pro Bono Connect matches legal professionals handling civil matters for individuals, charities and community groups. The scheme enables barristers and solicitors to work collaboratively on cases, providing legal assistance to those who might otherwise struggle to access support.

Alongside the main scheme, Pro Bono Expert Support helps facilitate access to a range of litigation support services on a pro bono basis, extending the assistance available to organisations and individuals in need.

The anniversary event will recognise ten years since the scheme’s launch and will include a reception and a series of special awards. The celebration will take place at the Supreme Court on Thursday 9 July at 6pm and is expected to bring together supporters and participants involved in the initiative.

Organisers have confirmed that, thanks to sponsorship support, all proceeds from ticket sales for the event will go directly to Pro Bono Connect.

Those seeking further information about Pro Bono Connect or wishing to book tickets for the 10th anniversary celebration are invited to contact the organisation via email at admin@probonoconnect.co.uk.

Pro Bono Connect is a collaboration between Advocate, LawWorks and the National Pro Bono Centre. Through its work over the past decade, the scheme has helped foster collaboration between barristers and solicitors undertaking pro bono legal work, supporting individuals, charities and community groups who cannot afford legal advice or representation.

The anniversary celebration will provide an opportunity to reflect on the scheme’s achievements and its continuing role in supporting access to pro bono legal services.
