LawCare discovers rising levels of stress in the legal profession

Three-quarters of legal professionals are more stressed now than they were five years ago, according to a survey of 1,000 lawyers by LawCare. The reasons given include too much work, poor management, feeling unsupported, unattainable targets and long hours. Worryingly, about two-thirds say they would be concerned about reporting feelings of stress to their employer. The charity LawCare offers free and confidential advice on health and emotional problems for lawyers and their families, and runs a 365-day a year helpline. Solicitors can call LawCare free on 0800 279 6888.
