Professional code of conduct for mediators under consultation

The Civil Mediation Council (CMC) has launched a public consultation on a draft Code of Professional Practice for Mediators

The draft code covers the core principles and professional outcomes expected of mediation professionals, rather than setting out prescriptive steps. It emphasises public trust, integrity, fairness and accountability.

Chair of the CMC Kelly Stricklin-Coutinho said: ‘We encourage everyone with an interest in mediation to review the draft and share your views, so that the final Code can truly reflect both the expectations of the public and the experience and insight of the profession.’
