Chambers announces four names joining the set
Serjeants’ Inn has welcomed four additions to the set: Alexander dos Santos, Matthew Chidley, Rhys Hadden and Elizabeth Fox.
Alexander dos Santos was called to the Bar in 1999, and previously spent more than 17 years with Charter Chambers. He specialises in financial and regulatory crime, commercial and public law, professional discipline, extradition and inquests. He regularly advises companies on regulatory compliance, and is also a member of the League Managers Association Legal Panel.
Called to the bar in 2008, Matthew Chidley joins from Furnival Chambers. He provides expertise on matters including investment, revenue and immigration fraud, money laundering, bribery and corruption. He also has additional experience appearing in extradition proceedings.
Court of Protection specialist Rhys Hadden was called to the Bar in 2006, and represents clients in both health and welfare, and property and affairs cases. In addition to his Court of Protection work, he also offers expertise in public and administrative law, and has particular experience handling cases affecting children and vulnerable adults, as well as those involving mental health, education and social housing.
Elizabeth Fox joins chambers after completing her pupillage with the set. Prior to joining Serjeants’ Inn, she worked as a legal researcher for a number of human rights organisations.
Chambers’ joint CEO Catherine Calder commented: ‘This is part of our strategy to extend our service for clients. It gives us even greater capability to provide Court of Protection expertise in property and affairs as well as health and welfare cases. It enhances our public law practice and builds our business and specialist crime offering in direct response to client demand.’
