Shakespeare Martineau—Kellie Hatton

Firm appoints partner to lead on regeneration and mixed-use projects

Leading full-service law firm Shakespeare Martineau has appointed Kellie Hatton as partner in its national real estate team. Based in Sheffield, Kellie brings more than 20 years’ experience advising on large-scale commercial developments, strategic land deals and regeneration schemes. Her appointment supports the firm’s expansion in South Yorkshire and its ambitions to strengthen its national development offering.

Kellie will lead the commercial property and development team on regeneration and mixed-use projects, working with developers, investors and landowners. ‘I was drawn to Shakespeare Martineau because of its strong track record in real estate but also its commitment to the regions it serves,’ she said. She also highlighted the firm’s ‘entrepreneurial mindset’ and its ability to support transformative projects across the UK.

Having held senior roles at Shoosmiths, Irwin Mitchell, BCLP and Dentons, Kellie’s deal highlights include advising on strategic land and build-to-rent projects, and a £115 million sale of a PRS portfolio. ‘What I love about development work is the tangible, lasting impact... seeing communities revitalised,’ she added.

Her hire aligns with Shakespeare Martineau’s continued investment in specialist sector teams. Victoria Tester, managing director, said: ‘Kellie brings exceptional experience and commercial insight... her leadership will be instrumental as we continue to build our profile and capabilities across South Yorkshire and beyond.’
