Manchester firm strengthens Court of Protection expertise with partner hire

Leading Manchester law firm Slater Heelis has further reinforced its highly regarded court of protection team with the appointment of Oliver Banks as partner. Bringing extensive experience in deputyship and Court of Protection applications, Oliver (pictured, left) specialises in managing high-value compensation awards for clients with life-changing injuries, recognised for his empathetic and client-centred approach.

An active committee member of The Professional Deputies Forum, Oliver contributes to promoting best practice and professional standards within the sector. His appointment marks a strategic step in the firm’s commitment to expanding its specialist services and meeting growing demand for expert support in complex and sensitive cases.

Clare King, partner and head of the Court of Protection team (right), said the firm was ‘delighted to welcome Oliver as partner’, adding that his ‘outstanding reputation, extensive expertise and dedication to improving standards’ make him ‘an invaluable addition’. She said the appointment ‘marks another exciting chapter in the continued growth of our highly regarded Court of Protection division’.

The department continues to expand with the arrival of Rebecca De Stefano as chartered legal executive, Shazna Mumu and Hannah Maynard as paralegals, and the return of Jordan Calder as operations manager alongside Amelia Bennett as accounts assistant. Clare added that the firm’s ongoing investment in talent ‘ensures we can meet the growing need for specialist support with both skill and compassion’.
