Partnership expands by five with key appointments

City firm Spencer West LLP has announced the expansion of its team with the appointment of five partners.

Employment expert Anne Mannix (pictured) has come on board as head of the employment practice, joining from Averta Employment Lawyers; her previous positions also include partner at DLA Piper and head of employment at Cantor Fitzgerald. Justine Brazil also joins as partner from her former role as general counsel at Willmott Dixon, and will bolster the firm’s construction and commercial capabilities. Paramount Pictures’ former general counsel Philip Solomons has brought his experience in technology and media law to strengthen the firm’s corporate and commercial offering.

In addition, a new executive immigration group will be led by Samar Shams, who joins from her former position of head of immigration at Downs Solicitors, previously having spent more than 11 years at Lewis Silkin. Finally, dual qualified UK and Greek lawyer Katerina Nomicos has joined as a partner to spearhead the firm’s tax practice, with prior experience including having worked with KPMG Greece, PwC, and gunnercooke LLP.

Managing partner Antoine West commented: ‘With Brexit around the corner, there may be challenging times ahead for all service professions, but we see this challenge as also creating opportunity.  We will thrive if we are flexible and able to meet the needs of our clients with high calibre lawyers such as our new partners, giving high class assistance but at affordable rates.’

Senior partner Simeon Spencer added: ‘We are absolutely delighted to be able to attract such talented lawyers to our growing firm.  We offer what we consider to be a unique opportunity and package for partners joining us, ensuring they receive the full reward for their excellence and hard work.’
