Talbots Law—a trio of appointments

A new specialist care team at the firm’s Birmingham office

Talbots Law has launched a dedicated care team at its Edgbaston, Birmingham office.

The firm, which is an employee-owned trust, has appointed three experienced solicitors in family and care matters as it looks to support hundreds of parents in Birmingham and Solihull.

New hires Natasha Chand, Kayleigh Hodges and Nicole Adcock have been tasked with developing a dedicated offer for families in the city and surrounding area.

The trio offer specialist legal advice from the minute parents receive a pre-proceedings letter from a local authority right through to court proceedings, ensuring the best possible outcome for the families and the children.

Natasha (pictured centre), a Children’s Panel accredited associate solicitor, said: ‘Talbots hasn’t had a specialist family team working from its Birmingham office, so the opportunity to come together and shape the offer from the ground up was very appealing to the three of us.

‘There are more and more parents in the city needing legal assistance at what is a very challenging time for them, and this can cover a myriad of local authority involvement, including court proceedings. What they want at that time is to know they have access to advice from an expert who understands the intricacies of this complex field.’

Nicole (pictured right), family executive at the firm, added: ‘This can be initial conversations over the telephone, to full representation at pre-proceedings meetings or court hearings, providing support and tailored advice every step of the way with the aim of achieving positive outcomes. All of this support is covered by Legal Aid, making it free to parents… They just need to pick up the phone to us and we will help.’

Kayleigh (pictured left), who represents clients involved in care and supervision order proceedings, the pre-proceedings process, and children’s services involvement, continued: ‘We want to have a really positive impact on families in Birmingham and Solihull and, with this in mind, have started to reach out to local community groups and family centres to set out what support we can offer their service users.’
