Law firms and trainees are being invited to take part in a two-year pilot of a new framework for work-based learning to be launched by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). The SRA is seeking volunteers by 6 May to participate. This would involve sending trainees through the new system of in-house assessment. The firms would be asked to report on their systems of training and trainee assessment, and the SRA would quality-assure those systems. Individual trainees who apply would need to demonstrate they have the support of their employer.
