The Law Society has updated its “unbundling” guidance for solicitors who are helping clients access legal advice in the wake of cuts to civil legal aid. The guidance now includes a wider range of civil law issues. “Unbundling” reduces the legal services provided and therefore the bill. It can involve, for example, providing self-help packs, checking or drafting documents or giving discrete advice about a specific step in a procedure.
