Legal finance provider Vannin Capital has appointed two associate directors, Anastasia Davis Bondarenko in Paris, and James Williamson in London.

Anastasia (pictured), who joins as part of the international arbitration team in the Paris office, previously worked as an associate with Three Crowns LLP, and has also held roles at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Dentons. She specialises in international arbitration and public and private international law, representing both private and sovereign clients in commercial, investment and state-to-state arbitration proceedings.

Vannin’s head of international arbitration, Yasmin Mohammad, commented: ‘Anastasia’s experience makes her perfectly suited to navigating the complexities of the international arbitration market. She will be a fantastic asset to Vannin’s international arbitration team and will help take us from strength to strength.’

In London, James Williamson has joined from his former position as a senior associate in the dispute resolution team at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He is highly experienced advising on commercial litigation cases and contentious regulatory issues, including shareholder disputes, civil fraud, collective actions and global investigations.

Managing director of Vannin’s London office Rosemary Ioannou said: ‘James’ experience will be of great benefit to the team in London and we look forward to working with him. The litigation funding market is rapidly expanding, and his expertise will help us continue to make the most of the growing opportunities for funding in the UK and internationally.’

Commenting on both appointments, Vannin’s CEO Richard Hextall said: ‘Anastasia and James bring a breadth of experience in international arbitration and dispute resolution that will be invaluable as we continue to see a wider variety of claims and funding opportunities across different sectors.’
