Firm takes to the skies with new aviation practice

National firm Weightmans has announced the launch of a specialist aviation practice.

Based in the firm’s London office, the team is headed by partner Andrew Krausz (pictured, centre) who joined the firm in July from Clyde & Co. The rest of the team includes Hayley Kiely (right)—a former claims manager with Monarch—as well as solicitors Harriet Edwards (left) and Oyin Ogunkanmi (second right), paralegal Camelia Nesari (second left), Glasgow-based partners Douglas Keir and Seonaid Busby, and insurance partner Peter Forshaw. The new team will handle a wide range of contentious, regulatory and commercial matters, and has already secured 11 aviation panel positions.

Andrew Krausz said: ‘The legal sector hasn’t always kept pace with some significant changes and challenges facing aviation businesses and their insurers, particularly in the current climate. We have assembled a team with the skills and industry and legal expertise to provide a first-rate product at a value that changes all of that.

‘With Weightmans’ pedigree in the insurance sector, our presence in the London market, and the backing of a 1,400-strong multidisciplinary team, we are well placed to support the aviation industry, in all levels of claims through to non-contentious strategic support.’
