Construction specialists join the team
National firm Weightmans has strengthened its construction practice with the appointment of associates Daniel Barchet and Richard Vaughan, who have both moved from Squire Patton Boggs, to its Birmingham office.
Daniel (pictured, left), who spent five years at his former firm, specialises in handling transactions and disputes in the construction and engineering fields. He has experience advising high profile clients including sports clubs, television studios and utility companies.
Richard (right) provides expertise in both contentious and non-contentious construction law, as well as development and development financing. His experience includes advising the Ministry of Defence on a Private Finance Initiative scheme.
Weightmans’ head of built environment, Karl Jackson, said: ‘Richard and Daniel have joined our growing construction team during a very busy year for the firm. They are a great team; very well known in the local business communities they operate in with a strong client base and network both in the Midlands and the wider UK market—a testament to their hard work and commitment to the industry.
‘Their approach combines all elements of construction law and wider commercial needs of clients to ensure we aren’t just a firm of lawyers, but facilitators of business. We are delighted to have them both on board.’
